Idols S14 Finale 2018

The Season 14 Finale of Idols South Africa marked a spectacular culmination of the competition, with Dream Sets delivering a large-scale technical and staging solution that transformed the arena into a dynamic live broadcast environment. From the ground up, the production featured a multi-level performance stage with extended platforms, allowing for fluid movement, high-impact choreography, and seamless camera coverage.

A striking arrangement of angular truss structures framed the stage, layered with powerful lighting that created bold geometric visuals and immersive atmospheres throughout the show. The design allowed for dramatic shifts in tone—from high-energy performances to more intimate finale moments—while maintaining a strong, cohesive visual identity.

Behind the scenes, the scale of the build was equally impressive, involving complex rigging, extensive technical infrastructure, and coordinated logistics to bring the vision to life. Under the leadership of Technical and Set Director Eben Peltz, and in collaboration with TV Director Gavin Wratten, the Dream Sets team ensured a seamless execution of the live finale, delivering a polished, world-class production worthy of crowning the season’s winner.
